The new move we learned today was the Pull Spin.We spent a few minutes learning this move by
watching the soccer training video Make Your Move DVD 1 by Coerver

It looks easy on video, but it is very difficult to execute.Avery practiced it a few times on her own while I was upstairs and she told me she had it down.Once the video was rolling though it was clear she did not know how to do the move correctly. We practiced this several times with both a stationary ball and in slow motion. It will probably take a while before she is able to execute this move effectively.

The new move we learned today was the Step On.We spent a few minutes learning this move by watching the soccer training video Make Your Move DVD 1 by Coerver Coaching. This is a move Avery learned several months ago and is one of her go-to moves in games.
Soccer University calls this move the Pull Back and teaches players to turn towards the ball after the pull back which allows you to keep your eye on the ball and more effectively shield the ball.Coerver Coaching teaches players to turn away from the ball after the pull back.I have already taught Avery to turn towards the ball so we are going to continue using this technique as well as continue calling this move the Pull Back.
The first minutes of our practice session were spent practicing the Pull Back with both the right and left foot.Avery is already familiar with this move and picked it up right away.
We then proceeded to practice a few of the other more difficult moves she learned previously.Today we did 5 reps per move per foot.

Pull Push Behind – Change Of Direction Move – New Move
On one
hand, I am proud of the effort. This is
my first attempt ever at video editing. On
the other hand, I know there will be a variety of things I will need to change
to improve the quality of future videos. Please hang in there with me.
The
new move we continued working on today was the U-Turn Stepover.Avery and I spent over ten minutes working on
it yesterday and neither of us could figure it out.It has proven itself difficult to
execute.
Prior
to our practice session today I spent an additional ten minutes reviewing and
practicing this move by watching the soccer training video Make Your Move
DVD 1 by Coerver Coaching.I at least
got to a point where I felt I understood the basic footwork of the move.
The
first five minutes of our practice session today were spent working on the
U-Turn Stepover in slow motion with the right foot only.Avery improved significantly from yesterday,
but it will probably still take several days before she can execute this move
with any degree of proficiency.
Our
remaining time was spent practicing the moves she has learned previously.Today we did five reps per move per foot.
