MOVES #11-#22
– MOVES
++++++++++
The
best thing a developing soccer player can do is develop dominant ball skills
needed to master the 1v1 (one verses one) game.
This
means getting thousands of touches on the ball to develop deep comfort and
control with all parts of the body and feet.
This also means mastering specific skills to keep the ball away from an
opponent, move the ball around an opponent, and take the ball away from an
opponent. As a player grows up,
dominant ball skills provide the best foundation for developing dominant
passing skills.
Younger
players can work through each move and skip those which are too difficult. Older players can work through each move and
spend time mastering those which are weak or missing from their game.

DOMINANCE
Forget
the complicated and crazy moves you see on Youtube and instead focus on the basics. These moves aren’t flashy, but they are
effective.
Make
them your bread and butter. Practice
them repeatedly until you can execute them in a game without thinking about
it. When combined with skilled
dribbling, mastery of these moves will take your 1v1 skills to a new level.
Dribble
at an opponent and do a simple Double Touch right around him. When a defender attempts a tackle pull The
“V” and move away.
And
don’t forget the Inside Cut and Outside Cut. These are the most basic moves in soccer, but
also the most effective. Watch the
greatest soccer players in the world and you will see the Inside and Outside
Cut used multiple times through a match.
NOTE: The first six moves listed below are all versions
of the Inside and Outside Cut.
The more repetition and practice of these moves the better.
Only
after you have mastered these twelve moves should you move on to the more
complicated (and fancy) moves ranked lower on this list.
